Awards
UXnet is creating an awards program to recognize the people, organizations and experiences that help define UXnet and user experience.
Instone Award for Volunteerism
This award is named in honor of Keith Instone, a Founder and original UXnet Board member, whose tenure with the organization was marked by his tireless efforts to contribute whatever was necessary to keep UXnet moving forward during our formative years. This award is presented to an individual who, through their quiet, behind-the-scenes, selfless and consistent contributions to the community, helps advance the field of user experience.
John Ferrara, 2006 recipient
An original Local Ambassador, John spent more than two years actively engaged in the leadership of UXnet’s early local and online activities. Noted as a hard-worker by his fellow Local Ambassadors, John voluntarily took responsibility for organizing the first UXnet web redesign project, leading the way through multiple incarnations before managing the redesigned site to completion in late 2006. Not only were John’s contributions integral to the website’s success, his calm and personable approach inspired confidence and camaraderie among his peers. UXnet appreciates John’s selfless service, and it’s with great respect that we’ve selected him for the Instone Award.
