Speaker: Jessica Hedgecock, Database Analyst, Enterprise Communications at OCLC Online Computer Library Center, Inc., is our presenter.  This program is an introduction to navigating the virtual world of Second Life and learning how this alternative world can enhance your personal literary journey through life.  It will include an overview of Second Life from the perspective of the casual user and will explore the various uses of Second Life in social interaction, support groups, marketing, religious organizations and politics.  We will also discuss how Second Life can be used as an outreach to a wired generation.  Potential uses include book clubs, reader advisories, and advertising of upcoming library events in the “real world”.
