UXnet adds new Advisory Board member; Announces date for first-ever leadership summit

The User Experience network (UXnet) has added a new member to its Advisory Board. Professor Kun-Pyo Lee, the head of the Department of Industrial Design and director of the Human-Centered Interaction Design Lab at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, has officially joined the group.

“We are delighted to add Professor Lee to our impressive group of user experience thought leaders providing strategic guidance to UXnet via the Advisory Board,” said Richard Anderson, a member of the UXnet Executive Council. “We look forward to Kun-Pyo’s unique perspective and vision joining our chorus of advisors.”

Lee’s accomplishments are significant and varied, including appointments as secretary general of the International Association of Societies of Design Research (IASDR), vice president of the Korean Society of Design Science (KSDS), vice president for the Ergonomic Society of Korea, executive vice president of the Korea Society for Emotion and Sensibility (KSES), and work as both an editor and judge for different design publications and awards.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Professor Lee on multiple occasions,” said Patrick Whitney, member of the UXnet Advisory Board, director of the Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of Technology, and the Steelcase/Robert C. Pew Professor of Design. “He will bring energy and important insight to UXnet.”

Additionally, the UXnet Executive Council and Advisory Board announced that the first-ever UXnet Leadership Summit is planned for Wednesday June 28. This event - to be conducted virtually - will help shape a viable long-term strategic plan for UXnet. Synthesizing UXnet’s accomplishments and plans with an infusion of ideas from the Advisory Board, this Summit should prove a watershed point of transition for the organization.

With Professors Lee and Whitney, the UXnet Advisory Board also includes: Aaron Marcus, founder and president of Aaron Marcus and Associates; Donald Norman, co-founder of the Nielsen Norman Group and a Professor at Northwestern University; Janice (Ginny) Redish, founder and president of Redish & Associates; and Louis Rosenfeld, an independent information architecture consultant, and founder and publisher of Rosenfeld Media.

Founded in 2004, the User Experience network (UXnet) makes connections between people, organizations and resources that represent user experience. With active initiatives currently building networks between locales, events, industry associations and UX managers, UXnet is a leading international non-profit organization representing the interests of the user experience industry.
