7:30 am - 9:30 am

Good design is more than just looking good. AIGA Pittsburgh’s Designer Dialogue program is a series of frank and open discussions, for AIGA members only, about what really goes into making design happen. Presenters will be talking about projects in-depth, providing a behind-the-scenes look into design goals and fruition - successes, failures, research, processes, and results.

Host: The Bank of New York Mellon
Presenters: Dave Vissat, Kurt Valenta and Steve Farrar
Case Study: Beyond brand standards: how a brand’s character shines through every project. We’ll take a look at a number of very different projects for Zippo to illustrate how an agency and client can work together to make sure a brand’s true essence can rise above budget challenges, language differences, retailer mandates, and whatever else stands in its way. All it takes is a little creative thinking, a lot of great design and the freedom to invent opportunities every now and again. Join us for the fun.
