The Eighth International Conference on Intelligent Virtual Agents, IVA 2008, is the major annual meeting of the intelligent virtual agents community, attracting interdisciplinary minded researchers and practitioners from embodied cognitive modeling, artificial intelligence, computer graphics, animation, virtual worlds, games, natural language processing, and human-computer interaction. The conference will gather researchers studying different aspects in the creation of, and interaction with virtual agents.
Intelligent Virtual Agents (IVAs) are autonomous, graphically embodied agents in a virtual environment that are able to interact intelligently with human users, other IVAs, and their environment.
