I found a quote on this seminar’s website to be interesting: “Most social media events are preaching to the choir. We are raising the bar and increasing the level of education by presenting actionable knowledge that will help attendees move the meter and have an impact on their marketing objectives.” Hopefully this is truly the case.

The Interaction Design Association (IxDA) recently held its second annual conference: Interaction’09|Vancouver. Several IxDA Los Angeles members attended, and they are holding an event to recap the conference and share what they learned.

Members of the Los Angeles UX community will be meeting on Februrary 16 at 7:00 pm (location TBD) to begin planning a local chapter of the Usability Professionals Association. Stephen Ruiz, Senior Experience Architect at Rapp Collins Worldwide, is leading the effort. Like most LA UX events, this event is full, but those interested in staying in the loop on upcoming meetings should join the LA UPA MeetUp Group. This will be a great opportunity for the LA UX community to focus on usability-related topics with endorsement from the UPA.
