Ah yes!! Another area of the city where there are loads of cool technology companies…. and a ton of great food!! Paker Technical is going to be hosting Seattle Lunch 2.0 in March at their Union Station location – yes that means authentic asian food! Should be easier for all of you folks in the area to make it on your lunch break and meet up with the rest of the Seattle tech community. Devs, Entreprenuers, Marketers, etc – all welcome – come meet the rest of the tech community.
Parker is going to invite some special guest companies that haven’t sponsored in the past to show us what they are up to (The companies on the short list for invites is pretty exciting so I wouldn’t want to miss this one if I were you). I hope to see you there!!

An hour’ish talk at Feedjit’s offices in Occidental Ave, Seattle on Javascript Widget design, virality, scaling, strategy and more. We’ve limited this to 30 people and will provide beer, soda and snacks. WiFi will be available and if we have demo machines they will be accessible via the wifi so you’re welcome to bring your laptops.
This talk will be technical and you’ll get the most out of it if you have a solid Javascript and DOM understanding. We will delve into some JS code and may look at webserver configs, OS performance, perl code etc. Some of the focus will be on scaling widgets and the operational needs of a widget business.
If there’s interest we will congregate at the pub downstairs afterwards.

Projects at Google move fast with small teams. Jake Knapp, UI designer at Google, will talk about tactics the user experience team uses to have the maximum impact—even when there isn’t enough time.
Jake will share the process and tips & tools that have helped his team. For instance, using “Getting Things Done” with Gmail and Google Calendar to keep organized, how to give effective presentations, and how to conduct a UX workshop with your team.
All this, and more, will be crammed into one hour. Cause we love compressed schedules!
