In this hour and a half forum, we will survey the survey tools, reviewing 4 or 5 products and evaluating them in terms of their pricing, variety and implementation of question types, statistics gathering and export, and–perhaps most importantly–their ease of use for both survey administrators and respondents.Which give the best balance of pricing and quality of feedback? Which provide the best user experience? And to what degree do any of them comply with OSU web accessibility policy? Come share your own experiences, expertise, needs, and concerns.

The category of websites called “social networking” sites is changing the way business professionals use the Web. While the highest profile sites in this category are consumer-oriented – such as MySpace, YouTube, Facebook, and Flickr – the social networking platform is also being applied in the business-to-business space. The appeal of these sites is that they facilitate easy interaction among like-minded people, regardless of geographic boundaries or time zones. These sites serve as the virtual water cooler, and are quickly becoming a staple in the B2B space. Some organizations are launching their own platforms to facilitate discussions and engage with consumers: providing such spaces for people to interact and encouraging dialogue can help companies build positive exposure and engender goodwill – which will translate into more business. Learn more about this trend and how it can affect your business at this session featuring panelists who have successfully embraced and are monetizing the B2B social network.

As co-owner and creative director of Juxt Interactive, Todd Purgason is known for his intense, Flash-based work for clients as diverse as Adobe, Target, Sony, and Fuse TV. The author of Flash deConstruction, he’s been on the cutting edge of website interactivity for more than a decade. But it’s about more than Flash to Purgason, who prefers the tangibility of presentation boards to screen captures when showing concepts. From client interactions to delivered project, he strives to deliver an integrated, finished experience.Since co-founding Juxt Interactive in Newport Beach, California, in 1998, Purgason has delivered fresh Web experiences consistently, from innovative Flash 1.0 sites to today’s attention-grabbing Facebook modules. Purgason came to interactive Web design from architecture, and it’s evident in the attention to detail and integration found throughout Juxt’s portfolio.

What is Pecha Kucha Night?
Pecha Kucha Night is a place for young artists, architects and interactive designers to meet, network, and show their work in public. Each presenter is allowed 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds each – giving 6 minutes 40 seconds of fame before the next presenter is up. This keeps presentations concise, the interest level up, and gives more people the chance to show.
Pecha Kucha (which is Japanese for the sound of conversation) has tapped into a demand for a forum in which creative work can be easily and informally shown, without having to rent a gallery or chat up a magazine editor.

Due to a last-minute client need, Vivian Rosenthal is speaking in place of her Tronic partner Jesse Seppi. (We all know how that goes). We’re thrilled she’s able to join us. As a cofounder of NYC multimedia design house Tronic Studio, Rosenthal has reshaped the contours of the possible by fusing video, digital animation, sculpture and physical space in new ways. From installations for Wired’s Nextfest, to surreal TV spots for Target, to 230 feet of high-definition video at JFK International for Windows Vista, Tronic thinks big and builds brand while delivering their visions on an engagingly human scale.
Join CSCA as we welcome Vivian Rosenthal to CCAD’s Canzani Center for a very special visit. In a visual presentation and discussion, she’ll show how it’s just not enough for creative professionals to push the boundaries— we have to blur them. For more info on the event, please visit www.cscarts.org.
